These resources are for the exploration of attention differences amongst both children and adults. This page is a work in progress and is developing alongside my own knowledge and exploration. These resources are helpful for professionals, parents & carers. Please share the page link to anyone who may benefit. Attention differences in the form of ADHD are very much a part of being autistic and any person recognised as autistic should be considered for ADHD.

Just a day after my own ADHD formal identification, Mel (Co-Founder & Therapeutic lead; Gecko Community) joined me on an, ADHD style, impulsive and rather comical live to talk about our experiences of being ADHD'ers.
This led to a flurry of messages and enquiries from others who found it very relatable and insightful in terms of their own journeys.
We will naturally self medicate, through sensory seeking. For some this can lead to addictions to drugs, gambling, shopping.... always looking for that next 'hit' of dopamine. It can look like high adrenaline sports or seeking out novelty, movement, or searching for new knowledge or information that that brings about what I call 'intellectual joy', this refers to the dopamine hit that comes from being hyper-focused on an interest, passion or project (this is also conducive to monotropic autistic neurology). Sensory seeking is a form of regulation and finding and allowing healthy ways for this to happen is vital for the well-being of ADHD'ers.

Connor DeWolfe is a fantastic vlogger who shares his experiences as an AuDHD'er (autistic and ADHD) often using #folloew the dopamine. Connor can be found on all major social media platforms. Connors TikTok page can be found by clicking here.
